The art is here, the art is here!

Well, the art is almost here.  I had planned to be here so much earlier than the middle (ok, closer to the end) of summer, but, sometimes life gets in the way.  For those of you who follow my other blog, you know the sort of things that have been getting in the way and you already know my art.  For those of you who don't...why aren't you???

Let me introduce myself...

I'm June, I'm a self taught artist and the "dreamer" behind the blog ACreativeDream.  I've been blogging a few years now, and with the encouragement of many of my readers, my friends, and even a few strangers, I've finally decided to take the leap and offer some my creations for sale.  They are beginning to pile up around here...

What kind of art do I create?  I make art that is messy.  My hands get dirty.  They are full of paint and glue, gesso and vintage paper scraps... and I love it.  I used to try to make art that fit what most people wanted. What I learned from doing that is that I can't do that.  I will never draw realistic portraits, or do amazingly beautiful and realistic landscapes or the perfect still life.  And that's ok, there are many talented artists who do.  Somewhere along the way I also realized that it's extraordinarily important that I stay true to my own creative abilities, they are a gift the Universe has given me, and I honor that gift by being uniquely me.  I call it being true to my own north.

My creations are ever evolving and I am forever playing with new things.  I haven't seemed to find a single niche that fits me, but rather a great many that I dabble in.  The one thing that does seem to hold true are the bright and vibrant colors that I use in the majority of my work.  That isn't to say that subdued colors don't emerge ever, just that they are used rarely.

You will find lots and lots of vintage book pages, many different sorts of paint, pastels, fabrics, several kinds of markers... really anything that catches my fancy.  For me, creating art is always an experiment... there is nothing more fun for me than to be elbow deep in paint and glue... to pick up interesting shapes and fun items and see where they lead. Most of the time I don't start with a plan, I simply do what feels right to do.

I'm very often asked where my ideas come from.  I wish I could tell you, but I don't really know.  Maybe the great ethers of the Universe... maybe something closer to home.  Sometimes it's how light plays against a wall through the gently rustling leaves of a tree.  Other times I'm inspired by the curve of a rock or a tree branch.  Still other times it's a line I read in a book.  Lots of time they are inspired by lessons life has taught me.  Things that I see, textures I touch, colors all around me, even scents that I smell... somehow they all swirl around in my head and come out as they do.  I sort of like not really understanding it... that allows me to believe it must be magic.

My work is full of color and texture.  I like that.  Not everyone will.  Again, that's just fine.  We are all unique and beautifully different, and what we like reflects a part of who we are.  That's what makes this great big old world so very interesting.  So... I guess it's about time to offer up some art isn't it?  Monday morning, July 29, 2013 you will find the first offerings... but before then, a couple of things to note...

First up, be sure to check out the policy page.  There you will find information that may change as needed, but will always be the most up to date policies that govern the selling of my art.  (That sounds darned official, doesn't it?)

Secondly... new pieces for sale will be offered here, but there will be a page that shows all of them in one spot, so if you haven't had a chance to see what's offered, be sure to check that page out.

All of the pages are shown over on the left side bar.

Also, I'm more than happy to work with anyone on custom pieces.  Just email me at ACreativeDreamer @ gmail.com  (just be sure to take those spaces out or it won't shoot across the electrons to get here).

Oh, and for those of you who follow me and add me to your google+ circles... from time to time there will be specials and even a give away or two that I will be sending out notifications for just to you guys... so start following!!!
